ABOUT PROFILES

The State Profiles System provides the latest and most complete information on the activities of the State Mental Health Agencies (SMHA). The Profiles provide descriptions of each SMHA's organization and structure, services, eligible populations, emerging policy issues, numbers of consumer served, fiscal resources, consumer issues, information management systems, and the research and evaluation they conduct. They address the specific needs of SMHA managers and others interested in public mental health systems. The Profiles support decision making, policy analysis, and research and evaluation. The Profiles System's databases from 1996 to the present are accessible on-line and include quantitative and qualitative information that can be searched by state, topic and keyword.
