Provision of Mental Health services and supports to Individuals with mental illness and criminal justice involvement are a major priority focus of State governments. States vary regarding which forensic responsibilities are vested in the State Mental Health Agency and the extent to which services are provided in state psychiatric hospitals and community settings.
