Thursday, November 30, 2023

State Mental Health Authorities (SMHAs) work with local governments, other state agencies, and provider organizations to help develop and provide appropriate housing options for individuals with mental illnesses. This report reviews the roles of SBHAs in supporting housing services for individuals with mental illness, the types of housing services and supports supplied, and major funding sources used for housing.
