In 2017, NRI and NASMHPD collaborated with the Vera Institute of Justice to produce an information brief on first episode of psychosis to educate representatives of the criminal justice system. The purposes of the report were to (1) educate criminal justice professionals about FEP and the importance of early intervention; (2) inform criminal justice professionals about the availability of CSC models in the community; and (3) highlight key opportunities for detection, diversion, and intervention in the criminal justice system. The project was facilitated by NRI and NASMHPD and supported by funding from SAMHSA.
